November 01, 2008 Annual Meeting/Celebration

The 2008 ACT Annual Celebration: Rescuing Students from the Perfect Storm With video segments from the movie "The Perfect Storm" showing in the background, Steve Kistler explained the numerous "storms" that many students face when they come to college. From professors who mock their faith, to fellow students tempting them with dangerous or immoral behavior, many students find themselves "lost at sea" without their normal support system of family, church, and friends. Steve admitted that when he was a student at UT, ACT was the God-given "ship" that came and rescued him. Today, Steve is the senior pastor of New Life Church of Christ in Bellville, Ohio, is married to Stephanie (who he met in ACT), and has four children. Steve emphasized the importance of campus ministry, the value of ACT, and encouraged all alumni to give financially and regularly to ACT. We were truly blessed, encouraged, and challenged by his wonderful message of faith!

In addition to the message, roughly 60 alumni, friends, and supporters gathered on November 1st at Garden Park Christian Church for a dinner, slide show, updates from the campus ministers, and encouraging testimonies from current ACT students. An extra blessing was an offering of over $2,500 to support the ministry of ACT. Thank you for all who attended, gave financially, and offered support in so many encouraging ways!!
